TOPIC: Networking online, what works what doesn’t, where are you finding “gold” and where are you finding “lead” or “spam”?
On Social Media for Business: and by ACTION I mean actionable information, actionable business opportunities
Question: so where are folks finding the best “connection” online, personal or business?
Question: where are you finding the MONEY online?
A few highlights from the meeting:
NIV: i don’t think you should follow communities, i think u need to lead them or lead inside them
Dawn: With twitter you need to get out there and interact with people make yourself known before you start asking for business
Steven: Do blogs work at all? Writing blogs. Does that bring business?
JMac: blogs are the core of social media – in my mind if you aren’t blogging, what are you doing?
Dawn: I don’t get much social interaction on my blogs, but I do get RT on twitter and it keeps my website fresh with content (great for SEO)
JMac: if you can’t come up with 20 ideas a day, you might need more exciting places to Lurk/
if you are saying something of “value” then you are doin a service/
if you begin flexing your writing skills the content will continue to come to you/
building an audience and traffic for that blog… well that’s the magic sauce/
instead of WIIFM (what’s in it for me) try WIIFY (what’s in it for you)
Steven: I feel that I can’t write anything more than 140 characters
Steven: do you befriend everyone on FB?
JMac: I do on FB, not on LinkedIN
Steven: I do the opposite, I feel that I have too much personal info on FB and LinkedIn is all business
